Iskandar Puteri Heritage Race 2011

Greetings.

Do you know what is Iskandar Puteri Heritage Race 2011?

Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) is organising the Iskandar Puteri Heritage Race in conjunction with the JB Arts Festival from 1-7 pm, Saturday, 9th of July 2011. 

The race, which is similar to a treasure hunt, will take place around the JB city centre while exploring the Iskandar Puteri Johor Heritage Trail. 

In the 1Malaysia spirit to celebrate cultural diversity, the theme of the Heritage Race is Racial Unity and Harmony, where teams are strongly encouraged to include at least one (1) other member of another race.

Prizes may be awarded to most racially diverse team.

Obviously I didn't know what the race is all about until just now. All that I know was that, the first prize is of RM1,000. It's cash, cold hard cash. We need cash, I need cash. $.$ So, I just agreed straightaway agreed when Yan asked me to join the race. So, together, Yan, Has and I made a team with the name of, The Witty Fools. 

I didn't know any of the rules & regulations and whatnot until few hours before the race is about to start.

Well, there aren't much rules anyways. Basically, in order to win, you don't need to be the fastest, but you have got to be the smartest. You get what I mean? You don't need to finish first, but you need to finish it correctly.

Well, we were given about 30 (am I right?) questions and the answers are on the signboards that are located on the streets of Johor Bahru. And there were 10 bonus questions and we had to figure out riddles of 5 treasures that need to be bought and handed over after finishing the race.

All that I know is that we only had 4 wrong answers out of the 30 questions, 1 wrong treasure but I'm pretty sure it can be debatable, but oh well, and 2 wrong answers in the bonus questions. There is one question that is so hard that no one did manage to get the right answer. Want to know what's the answer?

It's "No one understands this question?"

The question was designed for geniuses. Do we look like geniuses to you Mr. Organizer? >.>

Oh oh and there is one riddle question that is so hard that only two groups managed to figure it out. And our group is one of them! Woohoo~! We are smart that is. Yay~!!

Oh and it was a shaver anyway. Brand name Gillette Plus something like that, with the colour blue.

So, all in all, we managed to nail the 6th place. I was shocked. I didn't see it coming, I was hoping to win, but seriously I didn't expect us to win, because it seemed that almost all managed to get the answers right.

But, our aim was the cash. So, we somehow had a mixture of feelings, it's between happy but unsatisfied. LOL

So, we got a hamper full of junk foods, RM40 Touch'n'Go Rebates, 2 days 1 night stay in Palm Resort & BBQ Dinner in Pulai Spring.

Quite okay, but no cash. Me want cash, I need cash. I want cash! T.T

At first, we were told to go there wearing this white t-shirt for registration. So, we thought that we will have to race wearing this t-shirt.

But then, upon registration, we were told that we were to change to another t-shirt. What a joke. We had just worn that white t-shirt for about 10 minutes, and then had to change. And to a YELLOW t-shirt.

A YELLOW t-shirt on Saturday, 9th of July 2011, in Malaysia. Ironic. I think it's some kind of a joke made by the organizer. HAHA. But the paranoids would think that it's some kind of conspiracy by the organizer to indirectly influence us, the participants to support the "thing". Now now, but I am not one of those people who think that everything in this world a conspiracy, so yeah, I would still stick with the joke.

Okay, that's it. Now, the closing ceremony. I had taken photos of some of the winner, but nah, I don't have the mood to upload them so let the photos be exiled in my hard disk. 

There are 15 main prizes & 5 special prizes. 

The special prizes include,

1. The Fastest Team
2. The Slowest Team
3. Multi-Racial Team
4. Funniest Answers Team
5. Unique Team Name

So, we nailed No 6 as I've mentioned earlier.

We're going to use the vouchers in the next 2 weeks, so yay!! Free accommodation, free breakfast, free dinner! Woot~!!

Oh, and credit to Mr. Google. We got most of the information from Google. Mostly translation,a few quite hard info and ambiguous riddles. Yan was googling all the time! LOL

What a day, what a memory, what a knowledge. ;D

"Explore Johor Treasure Hunt"

It's another treasure hunt, but this time, you drive, all the way from Johor Bahru up until Mersing. It should be fun! We wanted to join, but the entrance fees made us said, 'Never Mind~'. But oh well, if you get at least the consolation prize, you'll get the capital back. Now, join it! It's a great bonding moments, and you'll have lots of sweet memories. Oh, and don't forget you'll get a chance of winning RM 4,000. Who knows, you might be lucky. ;)
